The pilot is a homage to “Action Comics” #1 (Superman’s debut), depicting the hero’s original Golden Age costume for the first time in live action. Between grounding his kids and preventing the next apocalypse, Superman shows us that it’s hard to be super when you’re in a family that still has to be home by dinnertime. “Lois” delivers high-octane action with enough family drama to make it relatable, because deep down, who doesn’t love watching a guy who can bench press a mountain struggle with work-life balance?
